Have you always wanted to learn to play piano?
Perhaps you are a mature adult and have always dreamed of playing or maybe a child who wants to work out their favourite song, create their own music or learn to play either for fun or take and exam. Whatever you dream, BSM can help make that a reality. Piano is one of our most popular instruments at BSM, we teach beginners through to advanced piano lessons, everyone is welcome.
Beginner Piano Lessons
Beginner piano lessons will include skills such as exploring melody and rhythms so you can start to play the songs that you love straight away. Beginner students will be taught a variety of foundational skills through fun methods that they will keep for a lifetime. Students can either play for fun or progress by taking an accredited exam with one of the four main boards we use, ABRSM, Trinity, RSL and LCM.
Intermediate / Advanced Piano Lessons
So you’ve learned the basics but where do you go from here. Students at this level usually progress to performing on stage, joining one of our bands, or working towards an exam. Many students however are just eager to keep improving. Students can progress through learning and understanding various techniques and material from scales, learning chords, reading a lead sheet, harmony, improvisation and building repertoire suited to each level and more. Our tutors are experts and will help you get the right syllabus that suits you to effectively learn the piano. Many students aim to take an exam and we structure lessons to support this, teaching across all of the main exam boards and the various syllabuses on offer.
Our lessons are customised to suit each student’s ability, age, learning style and pace of learning. We cover reading notation, exploring melody, creating music and learning chords etc. Lessons are 1-2-1 and are taken regularly once a week.
Our tutors have a wealth of experience teaching and consist of graduates, performing musicians, lectures and we even have an in-house RSL music examiner to help you achieve your best mark possible.
